Georgia Fashion Week: Season 6 Sofia KhArchi – 21 frames on the theme of Sukhumi
Georgia Fashion Week: 6 Seasons with Sofia Kharchilava and Goga Photography present a project that will hold a special place in the history of Georgian fashion. This is not just another show; it is an emotional journey into the past, which modern clothing designbrought to life, making the longing for Sukhumi tangibly felt by the audience.
When the models appeared on the runway, a total silence fell over the room. designer Sofia KhArchi managed to do what only a true artist can: turn longing, pain, and at the same time, the hope of rebirth into fabric and thread. As Fashion Photographer, my task was to capture each of these emotions, every dramatic shadow, and the gaze of every model through the lens without losing a single detail.

Collection Concept: Longing for Sukhumi in Fabric
The main line of this season was entirely dedicated to the theme of Sukhumi. to Sofia KhArchicollection was not merely a pursuit of fashion trends. It was the designer's personal message to the world. clothing design combining black-and-white tones, elements of destruction, and symbols of rebirth. Every garment carried coded information about the city we all miss.
Any Photographer in Tbilisi will confirm that Georgia Fashion Week always stands out for its high standard; however, the 6th season and Sofia’s works ascended to a completely different level of emotional intensity. The details-ranging from the selected materials to the shape of the accessories-told a story of Abkhazia’s fairy-tale nature, its sea, and its tragic past.
Runway Photography: How I Captured the 21 Frames
Shooting a fashion show is one of the most challenging genres. Models move across the runway in seconds, and the lighting is constantly changing. Georgia Fashion Week: 6 Seasons with Sofia Kharchilavawithin the scope of this project, my goal was to create 21 frames that would convey not just the clothing, but the very aura that permeated the show.
Professional Fashion Photography requires not only technical knowledge but also intuition. You must feel the rhythm of the music, the model's stride, and that precise moment when the light hits the garment most effectively. The presented gallery is the direct result of this observation.
The Play of Light and Shadow and the Psychology of Color
In this collection, colors held decisive significance. The various shades of blue symbolically represented the sea of Sukhumi, while the gray and black accents conveyed the sorrow that followed the loss of the city. For Goga Photography,it was a priority to maintain the accuracy of these colors. On camera, the color must be as vibrant and expressive as it appeared on the runway.
The lighting on the runway was dramatic and directional, highlighting clothing designthe structure of. As for my a fashion photographerthe task was to manage the light so that every fold and texture of the fabric would be clearly visible. This is the quality that my clients always expect.
